Not just a Pet - Chapter 1

It had been about 50 years since the Astrothians had learned of earth. A planet exactly the same as their own Astroth, just the scale was just much smaller. Humans stood at around 3 inches compared to an Astrothian, which obviously caused a great interest them. Eventually Astrothians began to travel to earth and kidnap humans for their own personal desire. This was very quickly made illegal, and the government set up a system to allow Astrothians to possess a human, for only one reason: a pet. Although they were identical to the Astrothians, most saw the humans as a lower life form and treated them only as pets.

Julian pulled up at the animal shelter. It was his friend Mark's birthday and all he could ever talk about was how much he wanted a pet human, so he wanted to surprise him with finally buying him one. He was always very precise about what type of human he wanted. a young, beautiful girl with brown hair and green eyes. He wasnt sure why, but he decided thats what he ought to search for.

"Hello, how may I help you?" a cheery girl asked him as he entered
"I'm looking for a human?" he replied, looking around for the human section
"right over there, first door on your left" she said all-too happily and pointed in the direction
"thanks" Julian mumbled as he walked over.

Keely was awoken by the sound of a bell by the door, meaning someone had come in. She walked up to her cage door and looked out to see a tall (for Astrothian standards) young man, around 24 years old, with messy brown hair slowly walking around the room looking at all the cages.

"where are all the females?" Julian asked to no one in particular, after only seeing male humans, all who gave him dirty looks.

"over here!" Keely yelled, hoping he would hear. All the other humans thought she was crazy. she wasnt shy when it came to giants and often talked to the people that came in. Of course none of the Astrothians treated it like a conversation with another astrothians, more like one would talk to their dog, but she didnt care, she always believed that maybe one giant out there would see her as more than just a pet.

Julian was drawn to the sound of a small voice in the far right corner of the room. the room had cages along all the walls and each wall had about 5 rows high of humans. he realised men were on the left, and women were on the right, and on the back wall were families.the cages were open spaced except for a black room within the cage with a bathroom.

he walked over towards where he heard the voice and saw a brunette girl signaling for him to come over, he smiled and did so. she looked adorable flailing her arms about at him.

"Hello there" he smiled t her charmingly, bending with his hands on his knees so he could look into her cage
"Hello" she smiled happily.
"you're an adorable little one, aren't you? too cute to be human I think" he winked at her with a smile

her heart immediately melted. he was gorgeous. Even with his face being about 200 times the size of hers, he was flawless. 'too cute to be human?" she thought
"you think I'm cute?" she asked, blushing deep crimson red as she looked into is incredible green eyes
"simply adorable" he winked and stood back up again to look around more
he was gone too soon. she needed to keep talking to him. she wanted to be the one he took home!
"wait!!" she called out to him

Julian was in a trance. That human didnt seem like any other human he had met. he, like everyone else considered them to be just a pet, but this one, she was beautiful, even on astrothian standards. when she called back out to him he decided to ignore her. he couldnt let his thoughts get ahead of himself. instead, he found another brunette girl with green eyes about 5 cages over so he tried giving her a try.
"hello sweetheart, whats your name?" he asked, but she cowered away from him and ran into her little bathroom

"ok then..." he said as he began to search around for another girl. one after another though, they all cowered away from him. he sighed in defeat

Keely was hurt when he ignored her. but thats what alot of people did, she was too talkative. she sat on the small bench in her cage with her elbows on her knees and he head in her hands. 'you blew it' she said to herself.

"Hey, whats wrong sweetheart?" Julian noticed the girl from before sitting there looking quite upset. she looked up at him with a slight frown
"dont tell me you're afraid now too" he sighed. he had come back to her so see if she would be suitable for Mark. he didnt like the scared ones

"I'm not afraid of you" Keely shook her head "I wanted you to pick me"

"whats your name, sweetheart?" he smiled, knowing this would cheer her up
"Keely" she replied softly

"well Keely, I'm Julian. Would you like to come home with me today?" he asked waiting for her reply

her face immediately lit up and she squealed and ran over to the front of the cage and grabbed onto the bars and jumped up and down "yes yes yes yes!!" she squealed
Julian laughed and stuck his finger through the gap between the bars and pet her head
"you're so cute. let me go tell the lady at the desk" he smiled then walked out of the room

"I totally saw that, Keely" one of the guys on the opposite wall said to her
"saw what?" she asked
"he pet you. dont get your hopes up thinking he isnt like every other giant here." he said, finishing quickly as the door opened and the lady from the desk walked in and over to Keely's age and unlocked it "someone finally wants you Keely!" she smiled and grabbed her out of the cage and brought her to the desk were Julian was leaning and flicking through his phone. when he saw them he smiled at Keely and put his phone away and folded his arms on the table.
once Keely was placed on the table she quickly walked over and sat by his hand. he looked down at her and smiled and placed his hand around her and began to stroke from her head down to her back and repeated the motion, he laughed when she melted in his palm.

he kept doing this as he signed all the documents then he stopped to hold her and place her in a box for transport. Keely didnt understand the need but happily obliged
"have fun with your human!" the lady smiled at Julian as he walked out
"whatever" he mumbled under his breath and walked out and got into his car, placing Keely in the passenger seat

"hopefully Mark doesnt care about your pretty blue eyes" he laughed as he buckled the box into the seat and started the car

"who is mark?" she thought to herself.
